Activated Insights is a company that cares about improving the quality of care for seniors. A great deal of research, and user testing went into designing accessible products for a wide range of users, from Gen Z caregivers to residents in their late 80’s. To make the experience easier for the seniors we focused on high contrast, simplified colors, & larger type. 

Role: Senior UX/UI Designer, Brand Designer

 

We removed the traditional vertical scrolling one might expect when taking an online survey because we wanted to intentionally slow down the process. Through research and testing we found seniors favored a more controlled viewing, and felt better focusing on one question at a time. The intention behind every design choice, and every interaction was to aid and care for our users.

Documentation, information architecture, rapid prototyping, user interviews, working closely with product manager (the great Tanya Ocker), engineering and QA team for feedback and further ideation.

 

Brand Library

 

I created and categorized hundreds of product components in Figma. I was excited to take on the challenge while also leading their UX efforts. For me, the visual language and the user experience designs go hand and hand - one informs the other, and both deserve a great deal of thought.

 

Built and maintained the component library, created documentation, guidelines, marketing assets, ads, & illustrations.
